April 28, 2009

Fan-filmed video footage of DEEP PURPLE performing the classic song "Smoke On The Water" — with a special guest appearance by Yngwie Malmsteen and former DEEP PURPLE keyboardist Jon Lord — on April 15, 2009 at the Tokyo International Hall in Japan can be viewed below.

The April 15 Tokyo concert was the final date of the YNGWIE MALMSTEEN / DEEP PURPLE six-show Japanese tour.

"One Eye To Morocco", the new solo album from DEEP PURPLE singer Ian Gillan, entered the German Media Control chart at position No. 97. The CD was released on March 31 in North America via Eagle Rock Entertainment.

In Europe, "One Eye To Morocco" is available in the following formats: standard CD, limited-edition CD (details to be announced),2CD (standard CD + CD single) and 2LP set.

Produced and recorded in Canada with maestro Nick Blagona, the music was written by Ian Gillan together with longtime collaborator Steve Morris, as well as Michael Lee Jackson and Rodney Appleby — who both performed on the "Gillan's Inn" U.S. tour, as featured on the double album/DVD "Live in Anaheim" (released through Edel Entertainment).

Malmsteen recently released an all-instrumental acoustic album, "Angels Of Love" (Rising Force Records),containing rearrangements of his ballad songs played on acoustic guitar and string and choir arrangements only. It is a masterpiece showing the tender, delicate version of his classic songs as well as a new composition.

According to a press release, "'Angels Of Love' is the instrumental version of the best Yngwie Malmsteen love songs played on acoustic guitar and keyboards only. It is a master piece showing the tender, delicate version of his classic songs which will appeal to all adult consumers who are into romantic/new age and instrumental songs as well as Yngwie Malmsteen fans and rock music fans alike."
