YNGWIE MALMSTEEN To Issue Collection Of Early Demos In December

September 25, 2002

YNGWIE MALMSTEEN's highly-anticipated collection of early demo recordings and other rare material, entitled Genesis, will reportedly be released in Japan by Pony Canyon Records on December 17th.

Genesis is tentatively scheduled to include six tracks from 1980, possibly one from 1978, a 12-minute rendition of HENDRIX's "Voodoo Chile" and another track that is 17 minutes long. In addition there will be four bonus tracks of unreleased material, and some spoken-word comments from Yngwie. The artwork will be an original piece and the inlay will contain early photos from Yngwie's private collection.

Malmsteen was going to release the Genesis album himself through his own YJM Merchandising Company, but several companies expressed interest in releasing the album and a deal was eventually struck with Pony Canyon.
