YNGWIE MALMSTEEN Visits MARSHALL Guitar Factory; Video Available
June 25, 2008On June 11, Swedish neo-classical guitar virtuoso Yngwie Malmsteen popped into the Marshall guitar factory for a chat with Paul Marshall. Watch the five-minute video below.
A recent interview with Yngwie Malmsteen conducted by Guitar Jam Daily is available for download in two parts: Part#1, Part#2.
In Part I of the interview, Ken Volpe and Yngwie talk about the new Fender/Yngwie guitar that will be coming out this fall. It's an exact replica of his 1971 Strat. Yngwie also talks about his performance at this past April's Dallas Guitar Show. Towards the end of the session, they discuss his new project and about Yngwie's production techniques and recording philosophies. In Part 2 of the interview, Volpe and Yngwie talk about how Yngwie composed music for his new record due out this July and how he retains his ideas. Yngwie also talks about he developed his amazing ability and technique. He believes that it all stems from the ear. As he says "If it sounds good it is good."
According to CDJapan.co.jp, Yngwie Malmsteen will release his new studio album in Japan on July 9. The LP's limited edition will feature the high-fidelity SHM-CD format (fully compatible with standard CD players) plus a bonus DVD containing interviews with Yngwie Malmsteen discussing the songs on the album and more.
Yngwie Malmsteen recently told Guitar World magazine that his forthcoming solo album will feature his strongest lineup ever: Tim "Ripper" Owens (BEYOND FEAR, ex-JUDAS PRIEST, ICED EARTH) on vocals, Bjorn Englen on bass, Michael Troy on keyboards, and Patrik Johansson on drums. "It's going to come down like a fucking atom bomb!" Malmsteen said. "We've already recorded 39 songs. I went full out. I've got strings from Istanbul, and the drums are the heaviest I've fucking heard. Ripper conveys the lyrics I write like no one else. I'll write something like 'divide and conquer' and when Ripper sings it, it really comes out that way. It's like Sparta!"
