ZAKK WYLDE Comments On 'Free' OZZFEST; Video Available

July 6, 2007

Australia's Undercover News recently caught up with OZZY OSBOURNE guitarist Zakk Wylde to ask him about this year's Ozzfest, which is being staged as a free show.

On the topic of this year's event being free, Zakk said, "You never question your mother [referring to Ozzy's wife and Ozzfest founder Sharon Osbourne — Ed.]. So I never question mom. So the bottom line is this: It's none of my business — I just show up and I play and I do what I gotta do and the beer is ice-cold. Game over, badda-boom, badda-bang. That's it."

Watch a video clip of Zakk talking about this year's Ozzfest at this location.

Concert-promotions giant Live Nation gave away 428,000 tickets over a four-day period last month through its web site and various sponsor sites. Beginning June 8, fans entered exclusive codes to obtain tickets to one of the 24 Ozzfest dates. More than 228,000 passes were distributed June 12 alone, with the last one given away just after midnight, according to Live Daily.

This year, the 12th annual installment of Ozzfest will find OZZY OSBOURNE on the main stage alongside STATIC-X, LAMB OF GOD and LORDI. The second stage will feature headliner HATEBREED with BEHEMOTH, MONDO GENERATOR, NILE, ANKLA, CIRCUS DIABLO, THE SHOWDOWN, 3 INCHES OF BLOOD, DAATH, CHTHONIC and IN THIS MOMENT.

Ozzfest 2007 will launch July 12 in Seattle, WA at the White River Amphitheatre.
