CHROME DIVISION Joined By SUSPERIA Frontman
August 31, 2009CHROME DIVISION, the Norwegian five-piece featuring DIMMU BORGIR frontman Shagrath (a.k.a. Stian Thoresen) on guitar, has parted ways with longtime vocalist Eddie Guz "due to lack of dedication and commitment to the band." His replacement is none other than Athera of SUSPERIA, who filled in for Guz at the Winterfire Festival at Hessenhallen in Giessen, Germany on February 21, 2009 after Eddie Guz was unable to make the gig.
Comments CHROME DIVISION: "Since the band is more active than ever, it would only slow down the tempo of achieving their future goals [to keep Guz in the band]. This decision needed to be done for the benefit of CHROME DIVISION. Eddie Guz will still remain a friend and a drinking buddy, but sometimes friendship and music don't always blend easily together."
Regarding Eddie's replacement, CHROME DIVISION states, "In February Shady Blue (Athera of SUSPERIA) stepped in for Eddie on a gig in Germany, and the result was very pleasing for both the band and the fans. So we are happy to announce that Shady Blue has now become a full worthy permanent singer in CHROME DIVISION."
CHROME DIVISION will make its U.K. live debut on October 2 at The Underworld in London. The band will also perform in Oslo on November 20.
A third CHROME DIVISION album is currently being written and there are "only a few more songs" left to complete before the band will hit the studio to begin recording the effort. A 2010 release is expected.
An e-card for "Booze, Broads And Beelzebub", the sophomore album from CHROME DIVISION, can be accessed at this location.
"Booze, Broads And Beelzebub" was released in July 2008 in Europe and August 2008 in North America via Nuclear Blast Records.
The follow-up to 2006's "Doomsday Rock 'n' Roll", "Booze, Broads And Beelzebub" was recorded at Studio Fredman in Sweden during January 2008 and contains a dozen or so tracks, including a cover of a classic ZZ TOP tune. The material was described by the band as "a bit more varied than on 'Doomsday Rock 'n Roll'. A bit more metal, more fast stuff, but still the basics in filthy rock 'n' roll."
CHROME DIVISION current lineup:
