January 12, 2015

According to a posting on the Facebook page of the Los Angeles-based metal band THROWN INTO EXILE, the group's lead singer, Henry Derek Bonner (pictured; formerly of SCAR THE MARTYR),was involved "in a horrific car crash on his way home" Sunday night (January 11). THROWN INTO EXILE guitarist Mario Rubio states (see below): "The accident took place on the 101 freeway where a suspected drunk driver hit Henry, causing his car to roll over three times and the driver leaving the scene.

"I just got off the phone with him and thankfully he is okay and in one piece.

"As of right now, we will not be able to perform [Monday] night [January 12] at the Viper Room for you.

"We never back down from shows, but given the situation it is for the best, because we want to give you our best and nothing less on stage.

"We will reschedule the show and make it up to you.

"Our apologies and please keep Henry in your thoughts,

"I will keep you in the loop as soon as I get updates.

"Thank you for understanding, my friends."

Bonner released a statement in April 2014 claiming that he was leaving SCAR THE MARTYR "due to personal differences, artistic direction and a slew of business decisions that I cannot simply ignore." He added: "I've given it a year of my life and now it's time to move on. I will continue making music in many forms."

THROWN INTO EXILE's new song "Restore The Truth" can be streamed using the SoundCloud widget below. The first THROWN INTO EXILE track to be released in over a year was mixed and produced by Steve White (ex-ALL HAIL THE YETI) and features Henry Derek Bonner.

THROWN INTO EXILE is currently gearing up for a collaboration SOILWORK singer Björn "Speed" Strid, as he will make a guest appearance on upcoming song.

As previously reported, Bonner also recently joined the as-yet-unnamed new band formed by ex-MEGADETH members Chris Broderick (guitar) and Shawn Drover (drums).
