It's Official: MACHINE HEAD Re-Sign With ROADRUNNER RECORDS U.S.

February 17, 2004

Roadrunner Records has confirmed in a posting on their web site that MACHINE HEAD have re-signed with the label for the North American release of their fifth studio album, "Through The Ashes of Empires" (as exclusively reported here last Friday).

"We previously had a deal with the band that was only for a European/Japanese/Australian release of the new CD (CD came out in those territories last Fall)," the statement from Roadrunner reads. "But now, NOW is time for the U.S. to hear the new MACHINE HEAD. 'Through The Ashes Of Empires' is clearly a return to the classic MH sound of the past, while at the same time being a clear step forward.

"Currently, we are looking at an April 20th release of the CD. Oh, and here is something that doesn't happen every day — bonus tracks included on initial release. Usually territories abroad get the CDs with bonus tracks...but due to this unique situation, the US CD release of this will have bonus tracks. The band should be heading into the studio at some point in the coming couple of weeks to record two new tracks for this release (one original, one most likely being a cover)."

MACHINE HEAD will embark on a full-scale North American tour this spring. Exact cities and dates will be announced soon.
