AC/DC Holds On Atop Euro Albums Chart
November 21, 2008Paul Sexton of Billboard.biz reports that AC/DC's "Black Ice" (Columbia/Sony BMG) has scored a fourth week at No. 1 on pan-European's Top 100 Albums chart. "Ice" not only retains its crown in Germany and Greece but regains two leads that it lost last week, rebounding 4-1 in Hungary and 2-1 in Sweden. It holds at No. 2 in Switzerland and the Belgian region of Wallony and No. 3 in France in Austria, but falls 1-2 in Denmark and Flanders, 2-3 in Norway, 3-6 in Italy and 9-11 in the United Kingdom.
"Black Ice" is available in the U.S. exclusively via Wal-Mart, Sam's Club and AC/DC's web site.
Special "pop-up" AC/DC stores are open through January 9 in New York City and Los Angeles, where Wal-Mart does not have stores.
AC/DC kicked off its world tour in support of "Black Ice" on October 28 in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.
