ADLER'S APPETITE Cancel Remainder Of Mini-Tour, Blame Tour's Promoter

February 28, 2004

ADLER'S APPETITE (formerly SUKI JONES),the new band featuring ex-GUNS N' ROSES drummer Steven Adler, RATT/ex-LOVE/HATE singer Jizzy Pearl, ex-SLASH'S SNAKEPIT guitarist Keri Kelli, FASTER PUSSYCAT guitarist Brent Muscat, and ex-VINCE NEIL/RATT bassist Robbie Crane, have cancelled the remainder of their mini-tour with EVERY MOTHER'S NIGHTMARE after their contract with the tour's promoter was "not honored." The following is an official statement on the matter from Jizzy Pearl:

"Well I must watch myself, watch what I say that is...I can tell you only what happened to a certain point…

"We were contracted to play 6 shows with a certain promoter who was going to supply us with our own bus as transportation. It was written in our contract. We were also contracted to play 2 extra shows with another promoter in this run and we were going to retain the bus for those shows and pay for it ourselves for those 3 days.

"Our opener was EVERY MOTHER'S NIGHTMARE who had their own RV supplied by same promoter. First show went OK, second show in Shreveport, terrible, we had to go on at 2 AM because we were told this particular Mardi Gras crowd was a late one and people wouldn't start showing up until around midnight...they didn't show up unfortunately and I sang 'Sweet Child' to almost nobody at 2:30 in the fucking morning. Next show Houston which went OK, we are now doing our 2 extra contracted shows with the other promoter guy...

"On our day off, Monday, we are driving to Baton Rouge and the bus pulls over in the middle of nowhere, stops. The bus driver informs us that this bus is going back to Nashville and we have to get off with all our belongings because the bus has not been paid for. The promoter has not paid the bus company any money and the bus is going home. We give the bus driver $1,000 of our own money to get us to Baton Rouge (this was our agreement for 3 days bus rental) and the bus starts rolling again with us on it. We get on the phone with the bus company and find out the check they've received from the promoter has no funds in it, etc. — they appreciate us giving them the $1000 but unless they get some $$$ the bus will again be pulled by tomorrow. We are in Louisiana and have no way of getting home, our return plane tickets are only good 5 days from now so there's a bit of panic in our camp. The promoter is ASSURING us that the bus will be taken care of, he'll handle it, etc.

"We get to the Baton Rouge show and do our sound check and again we are told that the bus is going home and would we please get all our shit off...to make matters worse apparently the trailer we are pulling has ALL of EVERY MOTHER'S NIGHTMARE's equipment in it, guitars, drums, everything and only the bus driver has the key. He says he is taking all this gear to Nashville with him and the band will have to organize some way to pick it up. So we go to the hotel, we have no transpo, the bus is gone — the promoter once again ASSURES us that he has ANOTHER bus on its way to pick us up from Baton Rouge and take us to College Station, our next show...is this confusing? Try being out there...

"So OK, we do the Baton Rouge show and wait for our 'bus' to pick us up in the morning. The next day an RV picks us up and we do the long harrowing drive to College Station where we are told there are 'healthy' ticket sales. When we get to the show we find out that this promoter has been telling everyone around him, including EVERY MOTHER'S NIGHTMARE, that this whole mess is OUR FAULT, that the bus is gone because we never paid, their gear is gone because we were too lazy to unload it etc...there is a large bus parked outside at the College Station show, apparently our 'new' bus, but this bus driver is not going anywhere. The other bus company who got stiffed for around $4000 called THIS bus company and told them what was up and so this bus driver informs us and the promoter that unless he gets $2000 right now this bus is going home too. EVERY MOTHER'S NIGHTMARE talks to us, finds out the truth and their tour manager starts a fight with the promoter.

"The gig was empty, again, 40 people in a 1,000-seat bar. EVERY MOTHER'S NIGHTMARE has no gear and they are stranded in the middle of Texas with no ride.

"We got a ride home to our hotel and the next day rented a van and drove to Dallas where we hopped a plane back home. Our next scheduled show with 10 hours away in Little Rock or something and we had no bus to get there so we split. Our contract had not been honored so we got out of there.

"I feel bad for EVERY MOTHER'S NIGHTMARE, they are nice guys and like us had the wool pulled over their eyes. Shit like this happens from time to time, it's a part of doing business so apologies to all the people who bought their tickets and wanted to see the show, we wanted to finish our commitment but couldn't. There ya go...."
