AFTER FOREVER Part With Guitarist, Replacement Announced

April 4, 2002

Dutch gothic/atmospheric doom metal act AFTER FOREVER have parted ways with guitarist and founding member Mark Jansen due to “musical differences”. “Mark was one of the founders and forces behind AFTER FOREVER,” reads the group's official statement on the split. “We thank him for his important contribution to the success that the band has gained through the years. We count on it that we will be seeing him on stage with another band. Therefore we wish him all the best with his music career.”

AFTER FOREVER have already recruited a replacement for Jansen in the shape of Bas Maas, who “has a lot of experience as a guitar player coming from different bands.” Maas' first show with the group will take place at Paradiso in Amsterdam on April 7th.
