AGANKAST Part Ways With Drummer, Announce Replacement

June 27, 2006

Former ATOMKRAFT guitarist Rob Matthew has released the following update on his AGANKAST project:

"Unfortunately, Drew Gill, AGANKAST's drummer, left the building this month. Drew was in the band because as well as being a good drummer he was a friend. But he was getting left behind by the three of us. We wanted him there with us, but he just had too many other things going on in his life, and we had to make that difficult decision. It wasn't Drew's fault. Drew's young and still finding his way. He's one of those guys that can turn his hand to anything, and in fact, the guy's a great guitar player and is now rehearsing and putting material together with a new band... and there is a possibility in the near future of Drew's band supporting AGANKAST on a small British tour at the end of the year. We will keep you posted. He has been replaced by Berwick drummer, 18-year-old James Savage.

"The decision to replace Drew was a tough one, but I have had to be ruthless in my decision, which I did not like. But Drew's a good lad, and he remains a friend of the clan.

"We have made an agreement together that if AGANKAST hit the big time, Drew gets a piece of land to build a house on, which he requested... and I said I would also throw in a swimming pool. So that's now official.

"Drew is always AGANKAST because it's too late now, anyway — once you've entered in the clan, you're AGANKAST for life. Scarred, tatooed, bonded… it will follow you to your grave."
