January 9, 2008

EVliving.com reports that rock legend Alice Cooper will sell a vehicle at the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company's 37th Annual Collector Car Event from Jan. 12-20, 2008, in Scottsdale, AZ.

Fit for the king of "shock rock" himself, Cooper's 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300SL Gullwing underwent a frame-off re-creation and features an all-new GM drivetrain, power steering, 4-wheel power disc brakes, air conditioning and a 5.3-liter engine with automatic transmission. Cooper's personal touches include fully functional power Gullwing doors and the custom platinum silver and black paint scheme. The winning bidder will also receive a set of his personal Callaway golf clubs and an autographed guitar.
