AMEN Postpone U.K. Tour
April 28, 2005AMEN have been forced to postpone their previously announced U.K. tour due to "an old stage injury that has gone untreated for some time" which "has ruptured and caused Casey [Chaos, vocals] to almost lose his life," according to a post on the band's official web site.
"We are all very shaken up right now," the rest of the band write on their web site. "This could very well have happened two weeks from now during a show on the tour, and due to the intensity of AMEN's live shows, it would have most likely resulted in the death of Casey Chaos. We are grateful that it happened at a time when we could address the matter immediately, and feel good to know that Casey is on the road to a quick recovery.
"This happened as a result of our rigorous rehearsal schedule, and in a strange way, is our wake up call of how hard we have been working to really resurrect and represent what AMEN is about to each one of us. Casey, in fact, wanted to go ahead with the tour against doctor's orders, but the rest of the band and I decided that we would not let him go on without a full recovery under his belt. Doctors expect the recovery period to be about eight weeks, which will leave us to begin our European tour (to be announced in a few days) as scheduled. We plan on returning to the U.K. following this tour, to make up the shows that are being postponed due to Casey's illness. We hope to figure out and announce the make up dates within a couple of weeks, and expect all tickets already purchased to be honored.
"Thank you for your continued support."
