AMON AMARTH Frontman Interviewed On KUFO's 'Metalopolis'
April 26, 2010Swedish metallers AMON AMARTH were interviewed on the latest edition of the "Metalopolis" show, hosted by former WHITE ZOMBIE drummer Ivan de Prume, on Portland, Oregon's Rock 101.1 FM KUFO radio station. The chat with vocalist Johan Hegg, which was conducted on AMON AMARTH's tour bus pror to the band's April 10, 2010 concert at the Hawthorne Theater in Portland, Oregon, can be viewed below.
AMON AMARTH bassist Ted Lundström was forced to miss the first three shows of the band's North American headlining tour — including the Portland concert. Filling in for him was Steve Drennan of ENGEL.
AMON AMARTH played its first-ever show in Beijing, China on December 1, 2009 at at Mao Live House. Hegg told the China Daily newspaper that he knew little about the Chinese metal scene until he arrived. "Virtually nothing," he said. "I've heard of bands coming here, but little else."
"To be honest, just before the show I thought this is not going to be good," he said. "It seemed like there were so few people out there, but then when we got on stage I thought it was really good. I had a good time. We all did."
"Versus The World", the fourth album in the reissue cycle from AMON AMARTH, was recently made available.
All four reissues contain a remastered version of the full album plus a bonus CD with the whole album played live (recorded December 2008 in Bochum, Germany).
