ANTHRAX: First-Ever DAN SPITZ Timepiece To Be Made Available

June 26, 2006

ANTHRAX guitarist Dan Spitz has posted the following message on his official web site:

"Well, all has been going well here as we ramp up for the ROB ZOMBIE/ANTHRAX summer tour. I hope to see all you wonderful supporters of metal there going insane. There is a lot in the works here behind the scenes, as usual, so I'll just give snippets of the fun at hand.

"I'm spending most of my time in the Northeast with my two wonderful children and loving wife Candi [photo]. We even pasted some backstage passes on the kids and headed out to the NICK LACHEY / MARCOS HERNANDEZ show in New York and watched them grin from ear to ear. You know, having the kids onstage one month with you, thrashers just hurling your bodies in moshing-pit style in the middle of the song 'Indians', and then the next time they're wearing passes it's Jessica's old beau Nick, should either broaden their horizon or absolutely confuse it. Well-rounded, I always say! I think my ears will never recover from the 100% female screams that are surely one billion times louder than any guitar amplifier I have ever played through.

"We are just about an inch away from finalizing the first-ever Dan Spitz timepiece available to the public. This partnership with a famous Swiss watch manufacturer known worldwide since the 1800s for their extreme water-resistant diving watches has no equal.

"Many of you who I've meet along this ride in music have asked when will it happen due to my extensive Swiss/USA watchmaker schooling, love and passion for fine timepieces. Well, the days grow closer to you being able to have something on your wrist that comes from me as well as being able to be kinda hot-rodded by me personally after purchase. I'll keep the rest to myself for now. Just know if you are in a band and want a timepiece with a personal touch that can't be destroyed, the time is very close, punk!

"On the musical equipment front, I am happy to report I have been blessed with the delivery of my first 'WatchTower' signature amplifier from Phil at Matchless amplifiers. It is the first ever 6L6 power tubed three channel amp they have ever made. If you are a guitarist and long for an amp that has both the Marshall gain the Dumble swirlies along with a hint of Fender tweed and a DC-30 chime you're getting the picture now. Beta testing is in progress on the upcoming tour.

"If you were at the SAMMY HAGAR show in south Florida you might have caught my brother and former BLACK SABBATH, GREAT WHITE, WHITE LION and all other bands with the word 'white' in them, Dave 'The Beast' Spitz, playing 'War Pigs'! His band was one of the opening acts. I heard through the grapevine that as soon as he started pummeling his bass guitar all dropped there drinks and headed for the stage in amazement (as usual) when he plugs in. There is no equal monster who plays four strings on this planet that I know of.

"I'm also fortunate in receiving and playing a new Paul Reed Smith private stock hand made guitar that just takes my breath away. I can't believe the birds inlayed into the neck fretboard are actually solid 14k gold/white gold as well as the giant eagle on the headstock. I get to press my little dirty fingers on solid gold every day now.

"I guess I've finally arrived — where I don't know, but I've arrived somewhere..."
