January 16, 2008

ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian will perform with PEARL — the band fronted by Pearl Aday, Ian's fiancée and daughter of legendary crooner Meat Loaf — on January 30 at the Roxy in West Hollywood, California.

As previously reported, Ian, Ted Nugent and ALICE IN CHAINS guitarist Jerry Cantrell are among the guest musicians who appear on the new EP by PEARL. The track listing for the self-titled effort — which was produced by Joe Barresi (TOOL, QUEENS OF THE STONE AGE, WEEZER, BAD RELIGION) — is as follows:

01. Rock Child
02. Check Out Charlie
03. Mama
04. Nobody
05. Worth Defending

An accomplished singer, Pearl had previously provided background vocals on several of her father's tours as well as for MÖTLEY CRÜE as one of the "Crüe Sluts". She can also be heard singing a duet with Meat Loaf on Meat's "Couldn't Have Said It Better" CD, in the track "Man of Steel" (co-written by MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx). Most recently, Pearl performed backing vocals for SIXX: A.M., the new band led by MÖTLEY CRÜE bassist Nikki Sixx, on July 16, 2007 at the Crash Mansion in downtown Los Angeles and on October 25 as part of a Halloween-themed radio festival in West Valley City, Utah.

Video footage of Scott Ian and Jim Wilson of MOTHER SUPERIOR performing alongside Pearl Aday on October 31, 2007 at the Metro Radio Arena in Newcastle, England can be viewed below.
