AUDIOSLAVE To Appear On 'Friends With Benefit' Compilation CD

January 26, 2006

According to RollingStone.com, AUDIOSLAVE are among the artists that have contributed songs to the second volume of the WB's "One Tree Hill" soundtrack series, "Friends with Benefit". A portion of the proceeds from the album, out February 7, will be donated to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. In addition, GAVIN DeGRAW, TYLER HILTON and the show's own BETHANY JOY LENZ, have all pitched in original songs.

AUDIOSLAVE are currently working on their third album, just eight months after the release of their second effort, "Out of Exile". Lead singer Chris Cornell posted a message at the band's official web site just before the holidays in which he wrote, "We are very happy to be recording so quickly after 'Out of Exile' was released. Not long after this we will be back out on the road. Thanks so much for your continued support. See you all next year!"

AUDIOSLAVE played several new songs live on their last North American tour.

On the personal front, Cornell and his wife Vicky had their second child together, a son named Christopher Nicholas Cornell, on December 5, while AUDIOSLAVE drummer Brad Wilk got married on December 10 to his girlfriend of 10 years, SEVEN YEAR BITCH vocalist Selene Vigil.
