AVENGED SEVENFOLD Guitarist Says Tour Was 'Shot To Pieces'
September 15, 2008The Pulse of Radio reports that AVENGED SEVENFOLD was forced to cancel its U.S. headlining tour, slated to start on Tuesday (September 16) in Moline, Illinois, because singer M. Shadows was afflicted with what his doctors called "vocal fatigue." Shadows will need two weeks of rest and two weeks of rehabilitation, but no surgery will be involved. Still, guitarist Synyster Gates told The Pulse of Radio that no one was more disappointed than the band. "We were looking really forward to doing this tour with BUCKCHERRY, and we're big fans of the band and we thought it would be a great lineup," he said. "For the markets that we were going in, you know, we have kind of a mutual fan base throughout there. And yeah, it was just really, really exciting, finally back in the States...and everything was just shot to pieces. So everybody's just hurtin' over here."
AVENGED SEVENFOLD will resume touring in mid-October in Japan. The U.S. tour, which also features SHINEDOWN and SAVING ABEL in addition to BUCKCHERRY, has been rescheduled and will now begin on November 4 in Caspar, Wyoming.
AVENGED SEVENFOLD has been on the road behind its self-titled 2007 album and is also promoting a new DVD/CD package called "Live in the LBC & Diamonds in the Rough".
