BLACK SABBATH, JUDAS PRIEST Fashion Designer To Donate Custom Guitar Strap For ROCK FOR TOTS

November 25, 2008

Ray Brown, the legendary rock-fashion designer who has dressed such influential artists such as JUDAS PRIEST, BLACK SABBATH, BON JOVI, POISON, STYX, CHER and countless others, will be donating a signed, custom-designed guitar strap to the fourth annual Rock For Tots event.?

"This guitar strap will be one of maybe five straps Mr. Brown has ever created, and the only one ever created for the public. This is an extremely rare collectible. The others belong to Tony Iommi (the famous 'Iommi' strap),K.K. Downing (the 'Priest' strap),Glenn Tipton and Richie Sambora. I, personally, am absolutely thrilled that Mr. Brown has chosen our charity do donate such a special piece of art to. We really appreciate the generosity he is showing for the children," states event founder Lance Wilson. ??

"We are thrilled and honored by this generous donation. Knowing Mr. Brown's clientele and the quality of his craftsmanship really make this a special addition to our event," adds event planner Leslie Criger.

Because of the international interest in this guitar strap, it will be listed on eBay to allow people who are not able to attend the event the opportunity to place a bid. The auction will start at on December 7 and end on December 13, the night of the event. The strap will be shipped out on December 15 to the winner, and should arrive in time to be the perfect Christmas gift.

Ray Brown is the original rock music fashion designer. As Tony Iommi, guitarist of BLACK SABBATH, states, "Considering Ray only has one color [black] to work with when designing my clothes, he is always able to come-up with interesting and adventurous pieces. For over 25 years, Ray has been creating my outfits for both on and off stage, yet he is still able to produce new ideas and concepts."??

Ray Brown is the genius behind garments created from "washable leather," a fabric manufactured exclusively for his label. "The band BON JOVI has worked with designer and tailor Ray Brown since 1985. The quality and durability of his clothing has been excellent," says Paul W. Korzilius, manager of BON JOVI.??

Mr. Brown is where cross and skull designs, lace-up leather pants and studded rock design originated. He "… has always been very creative," said Cher.??

"I highly recommend Ray Brown to any artist because of his craftsmanship and his ability to interpret my ideas in a cool way," says Slash, of GUNS N' ROSES and VELVET REVOLVER fame.
