BLACKMORE'S NIGHT Singer Offers Update On New Album, 'Castles and Dreams' Tour

September 11, 2005

BLACKMORE'S NIGHT vocalist Candice Night has issued the following update on the band's current and upcoming activities:

"We have returned from the German portion of our Castles and Dreams tour and what an amazing time we had. Not even the bold, wet German summer could dampen the spirits of those who came to the shows! We have memories that will last a lifetime... thank you, all our fans, for making this sold out tour so successful! Thank you Germany for your beauty...

"Before I share our many memories of the road with you... I would like to let you know of all the new and exciting things happening right now!

"First, our cover story in the magazine Kindred Spirit from the United Kingdom is available now! We are still doing many interviews to promote our DVD, 'Castles and Dreams', throughout Europe. Check blackmoresnight.com for the most recent interviews and reviews. The DVD has been released and continues to be released throughout Europe with release dates in the USA, Canada and S. America coming up soon — possibly November! Japan will be releasing in January.

"Our new single! We have two singles out right now. 'I'll Be There (Just Call My Name)', which we performed on ZDF's 'Fernsehgarten'. The B side, and alternate single, is 'Old Mill Inn'. The same place where we celebrated Ritchie's birthday this past year. The singles will be available for sale in Germany on September 5th.

"We are still in the process of mixing the new album. The title will be the 'Village Lanterne' and we are planning on releasing throughout Europe in November. Japan will be releasing in January and USA, Canada and South America should be around the same time as Japan.

"I have also recorded a duet with the band HELLOWEEN. It's a power ballad that stole my heart when I heard it. The song is 'Light The Universe' and their release date is, when else? Halloween — October 31st. My favorite holiday...

"We are returning to Europe and the U.K. to continue the Castles and Dreams tour! We will also be doing some holiday shows in the United States in December.

"Now back to the memories... As you know we played quite a few castles last month in Germany. This is what Germany looked like through our eyes...the incredible places, the beautiful countryside, and the amazing fans . More new fan photos have just been added here; see if you're on our fan faire page. There is a lot of work that goes into our tours, from the sound checks to the moments on stage. It is like a dream when the magic of those moments is in perfect harmony...

"We also did some filming for the 'I'll Be There (Just Call My Name)' and 'Old Mill Inn' singles. As well as appearing on ZDF's 'Fernsehgarten' which is always so much fun! Special thanks to our fan club members for coming to the tv show dressed in garb and adding your touch to the excitement of that day!! By the end of the tour we are all a bit exhausted but mostly we feel fulfilled. The great friends you've been with, places you've seen and love you've felt at every show makes for memories that defy description. You only know that you never want the moment to end... thank you for giving us such a great gift...

"I'd also like to take this moment to thank the truly magical Sarah Brightman who came to see us perform in Hamburg with Frank Peterson. I was completely in awe and continue to be...

"Please say a prayer, hold a thought or light a candle for those who have suffered in New Orleans... the devastation there is great and they will need all the help they can get... A few years back I vacationed there and was entranced by the French Quarter. The ghost tours, the candles lit at the fortune tellers tables at night, the bayou...the voodoo museum with the albino python! There is so much mystery down there... I remember Spanish moss blowing in the wind and alligators swimming beneath the boats... Send your positive, healing energy to the people there...they need it...."
