BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION Guitarist: New Album Is 'Not Just A Collection Of Songs'

May 17, 2005

BRIDES OF DESTRUCTION have set a September 6 tentative release date via Sanctuary Records their sophomore album, entitled "13 Acres".

The follow-up to last year's "Here Come the Brides", "13 Acres" was recorded in part at a studio in Malibu, California with producer Andy Johns, who has previously worked with guitarist Tracii Guns on the L.A. GUNS' "Waking the Dead" album (which Guns has referred to as "my favorite L.A. GUNS record."). Johns was reportedly involved with the album during its early recording stages but ended up leaving the project due to unspecified differences with Guns and the rest of the band.

Commented Guns: "I really thought this record was gonna be a breeze, but it was very stressful at times and took two months longer then expected. I guess that's the price for something that turns out extraordinary.

"The music on the new album is shocking, moody, and very different then our first record. It's definitely a musical journey and not just a collection of songs...

"The band is very proud and excited about this record and we wish we could play it for you right now but, we must be patient and let the business people do their job so we don't have any problems later like we did with 'Here Come the Brides'."

"13 Acres" track listing (in no particular order):

01. White Trash
02. Dead Man's Ruin
03. Blown Away
04. Brothers
05. Porcelain Queen
06. Never Say Never
07. White Horse
08. Lord of the Mind
09. Next Time Around
10. Criminal
11. Dimes from Heaven

Said Guns: "We cut 'So Long' and 'Tunnel of Love' from the record. 'Tunnel of Love' will be the Japanese bonus track and 'So Long' will be coming out later on something else we have planned for the distant future."
