BRUJERIA: Houston Venue Blames 'Local Promoter' For Show Cancellation

Leesa Fitzgerald, the Talent Buyer for the Engine Room in Houston, Texas, has released a statement to BLABBERMOUTH.NET regarding the cancellation of BRUJERIA's previously announced Feb. 4 concert at the venue.

In a press release sent to BLABBERMOUTH.NET on Thursday (Jan. 12),BRUJERIA had stated about the scrapped concert, "The cancellation is coming from the venue and not BRUJERIA nor the show promoter. At this time a new venue within Houston is being worked on. Once this venue is confirmed, it will be announced."

Fitzgerald's statement regarding the cancellation reads as follows:

"The comments on the BRUJERIA story lead the reader to believe we were the reason for the cancellation of the BRUJERIA show. I would like to note that although I did pull the plug on that show it was with very good reason. This is absolutely no fault of any of the bands involved but problems with the local promoter of the show. I certainly would never cancel a weekend show with a national act without good cause."

BRUJERIA's current lineup features El Hongo on guitar following the departure of ex-FEAR FACTORY axeman Dino Cazares. A new bass player and drummer will also be stepping in for the upcoming dates.
