Swedish metallers BY NIGHT have set an October 17 U.S. release date for their sophomore album. The band entered StudioMega in Varberg, Sweden earlier in the month to begin recording the follow-up to 2005's "Burn the Flags", which will include at least nine new songs. "Work on the album has come far and currently the guitars are being laid [down]," the band write on their web site. "The new album is brutal and beautiful."

In other news, BY NIGHT will perform live at the Dead Generation Festival in Köping, Sweden on May 27. Also scheduled to appear are CARNAL FORGE, CORPORATION 187, BLINDED COLONY, F.K.Ü and GODHATE, among others.

"Burn the Flags" was recorded and mixed at StudioMega during July 2004. It was engineered by Henrik Lycknert and Christian Silver and was mixed by Christian Silver. Mastering duties were handled by Dragan Yanaskovic and Christian Silver at Bohus Mastering.
