BYZANTINE Launch Bassist Search

West Virginia-based "tech-metal" band BYZANTINE have launched a search for a full-time bassist. Interested parties should send a short bio (name, age, gear, influences, and experience) and a demo to:

Requirements that need to be met are as follows:

1. Must live in or around the Charleston, WV area or be willing to relocate to or around the Charleston, WV area.
2. Stage experience and stage presence a must.
3. Willing to travel a must
4. Must have or be willing to purchase professional gear
5. Must be able to perform backup vocals
6. Experience in playing heavy metal a plus

BYZANTINE are currently in the studio recording their sophomore album, "...And They Shall Take Up Serpents", tentatively due in May via Prosthetic Records. Mixing the CD will be former WRATHCHILD AMERICA/SOULS AT ZERO bassist/vocalist Brad Divens, who has previously worked with FU MANCHU, KILGORE and MINDSET, among others.

The follow-up to 2004's "The Fundamental Component" will include 10 tracks, nine of which will be "brand new," according to a posting on the group's web site. The band will also be recording an as-yet-undisclosed cover song.
