CELTIC FROST Frontman Rejects Report Of Possible GRAMMY Nomination

December 4, 2006

CELTIC FROST frontman Tom Gabriel Fischer has commented on a misleading report in the Swiss media that the group's track "Totengott" was nominated for a Grammy award in the "Best Metal Performance" category.

Said Fischer: "This is a typical case of exaggerated tabloid 'journalism.' The true core of the story is that CELTIC FROST have appeared on the list of suggested Grammy nominations. The actual nominees will eventually be downselected from this list.

"That is the story, no more and no less.

"Besides, I cannot for the life of me see why this band should receive such a ridiculous award and mingle with those I passionately hate. CELTIC FROST is about other things."

The 49th annual Grammy Awards will honor the best in music of the recording year of 2006. The 2006 recording year started on October 1, 2005 and will end on September 30, 2006. The awards will be handed out on Sunday February 11, 2007 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA. Stephen Colbert will be the host of the award show.

CELTIC FROST's video for "A Dying God Coming into Human Flesh", a song taken from their first album in 13 years, "Monotheist", can be viewed at this location. The fascinatingly gloomy clip was filmed by up-and-coming Swiss director Jessie Fischer (no relation to singer/guitarist Tom Gabriel Fischer) in Zurich, Switzerland, in mid-August 2006.
