CHAOS DIVINE Parts Ways With Drummer, Announces Replacement

March 17, 2008

Drummer Chris Mitchell will play his last gig with Australian metallers CHAOS DIVINE on March 28 at The Railway Hotel, North Fremantle, Australia. According to the band, "It's a sad departure and he will be sorely missed, but unfortunately he could not continue with the job.

"It's been an amazing two years with the man, both in terms of his drumming abilities and in terms of the incredible gigs that we have played.

"We wish ya all the best for the future and we fucking hope to see you on stage again in the not-too-distant future.

"Here's to one of the most underrated drummers going around!

"As a result of Chris's departure, we would also like to announce the return of the mighty Ben Mazzarol to CHAOS DIVINE. We are delighted at his return and we look forward to kicking some arse with one of Australia's best metal drummers."

CHAOS DIVINE recently entered Melbourne's Sing Sing studios with producer Jarrad Hearman to begin recording its full-length debut for a summer release.

The band's last release was a five-song EP, "Ratio", which came out in 2006.

According to CHAOS DIVINE's official bio, the band's sound "is very much what the name suggests at times a blaze of thick riffage with a brick wall sized sound which seems to spiral into hypnotic melodies. Drawing influences from a vast array of metal bands such as MESHUGGAH, OPETH, ARCH ENEMY, DREAM THEATER, TOOL, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD and SOILWORK, to name only a few, the sound of CHAOS DIVINE seems difficult to categorise. The mixing of brutal polyrhythmic metal and ambient contemporary rock music has seen the members of CHAOS DIVINE bring various styles into a unique chaotic fusion."
