CIRCLE II CIRCLE/POWER QUEST Releases Tribute To SHAWN LANE

January 26, 2009

CIRCLE II CIRCLE/POWER QUEST guitarist Bill Hudson (also formerly of CELLADOR) has made his tribute to late guitar virtuoso Shawn Lane available for streaming on his MySpace page. Hudson recorded a version of Shawn Lane's song "Get You Back" the day he heard about his passing.

Commented Bill: "On my last trip to Brazil, I found this tape with some old stuff I had forgotten about. The recording isn't the best; I was in my teens when I did this.

"I remember reading on the Internet about Shawn Lane's death and immediately starting to record this song.

"He was a true guitar hero, and never got the credit he deserved for that. There are a lot of questionable 'guitar heros' getting lots of press and fans from kids who have no idea who Shawn Lane was.

"I really want people to hear what I did. Like I said, I recorded this as soon as I heard about his death...I just felt I had to. 'Get You Back' is also my favorite song by him. I learned the song note by note, but still put my own touch to it, particularly towards the end. I hope everybody enjoys it."
