CIVILIZATION ONE/Ex-FIREWIND Singer To Perform At Germany's WACKEN OPEN AIR

Chitral "Chity" Somapala (CIVILIZATION ONE, AVALON, FIREWIND, FARO, MOONLIGHT AGONY and RED CIRCUIT),will perform four days in a row at this year's Wacken Open Air festival in Wacken, Germany on the Wet Stage with his longtime tribute band ROKKEN (featuring monster shredder Michael Brettner).

Chity will moderate the "live" Metal Karaoke show, performing his all-time faves such as IRON MAIDEN, JUDAS PRIEST and METALLICA tunes, along with his own material.

Chity says: "It's such a great honor to perform at the world's biggest open-air festival, because of it's metal History, and I'm gonna sing my ass off at this event!"

This year's Wacken Open Air is already sold out, with more than 60,000 expected to attend the event.

CIVILIZATION ONE's current lineup also includes guitarist Christian Mnzner (ex-NECROPHAGIST, MAJESTY),bassist Pierre-Emmanuel Plisson (MALADAPTIVE, ex-HEAVENLY),second guitarist Bjrn Daigger (MAJESTY, R:I:P) and drummer Holger Rodammer.

CIVILIZATION ONE recently placed three songs from its debut album, "Revolution Rising", on the band's MySpace page. The tracks are "Life of Agony", "The Lost Souls" and "Welcome to Paradise".

CIVILIZATION ONE is an international musical entity comprised of musicians from Sri Lanka, Italy, France, and Brazil. "Revolution Rising" was produced by the band themselves and recorded at studios in France, Italy, and Germany, with mixing and mastering by Markus Teske (VANDEN PLAS, DOMINICI, SYMPHONY X) at Bazement Studios in Germany. "Revolution Rising" features 10 songs, including "Legends of the Past (Carry On)" and "Time Will Tell".
