COLDWORKER: First 2,000 Copies Of Debut CD To Include 'Faulty Cover'

October 13, 2006

Drummer Anders Jakobson (ex-NASUM) of the Örebro, Sweden-based band COLDWORKER has issued the following update regarding the band's upcoming debut album, "The Contaminated Void":

"News from [Relapse Records in] America [is] that there has been a major fuck up by the printers regarding the exclusive cover for the CD. Apparently, the printers could not read the instructions properly and printed the inked silhouettes on frosted vellum instead of clear. A huge difference. And unfortunately, since the release date is very close, the first print of 2,000 copies will have this faulty cover. Word from Relapse is that it 'still looks awesome, just totally NOT the effect that we were going for.'

"But fear not — the printers will do extra covers and you will all be able to trade the not so good cover against the excellent one. Instructions on how to do this will come in time. Or you'll keep it and have a rare, limited edition... (And buy a good one too...) Hehe... Chances are that we will be able to get good copies for our tour and mailorder, so keep your fingers crossed."

"The Contaminated Void" was recorded by the band this past June and mixed by Dan Swanö. Advance songtitles include "The Interloper", "An Unforgiving Season", "The Contaminated Void", "Return To Ashes", "Strain At The Leash", "Flammable", "Antidote", "Heart Shaped Violence" and "Generations Decay". A three-minute MP3 file containing audio samples of "The Contaminated Void" can be downloaded here.

"The Contaminated Void" release dates:

Europe/Japan: November 6, 2006
U.S.: January 23, 2007
