CROM: Artwork For New Album Revealed

March 11, 2007

Noted artist Kris Verwimp, whose extraordinary illustrations bring to life a fantasy world of proud warriors and wondrous beasts, has once again produced the cover artwork for the forthcoming release from epic pagan metallers CROM. CROM's Walter Grosse commented, "Kris is a longtime friend, and we have a history of collaboration, so he was the obvious choice to produce the artwork, capturing so perfectly as it does the atmosphere created by the songs themselves."

The album, entitled "Vengeance", is in the very final stages of completion and includes Seraph (drums) and V. Santura (some additional guitars and additional choirs) of German black metallers DARK FORTRESS in the lineup, plus a guest appearance by Dagon, vocalist from U.K. black metallers HEATHEN DEITY, performing a spoken intro on one of the tracks. Labels are currently being sought. Two tracks from the "Vengeance" album can be heard on the band's web site.

Grosse is himself a former guitarist with DARK FORTRESS and also has a black metal side project with DARK FORTRESS vocalist Azathoth. The band, SINDECADE, released an MCD entitled "Terrorcrowned" in 2006, a track from which can be heard here.

The CROM artwork, plus more examples of Verwimp's work and designs for album covers can be seen here.
