DANAVA Completes Work On Debut Album

August 24, 2006

Psychedelic sci-fi hard rockers DANAVA have completed work on their highly anticipated debut. The fast-rising Portland, OR quartet, known for their exceedingly powerful live performances, spellbinding song craft and unequalled blend of sound that combines metal's power with experimental / prog-rock's kaleidoscopic avant-garde, will unleash "Danava" on October 31.

DANAVA (pronounced Don-Uh-Vuh) have been assaulting crowds since 2003 with their unique take on heavy prog / hard rock that features twin leads, ethereal, sci-fi synths and bombastic drums (calling for comparisons to GONG, QUEEN, HAWKWIND and VOIVOD). The album was recorded at Portland's Suite 304 Studios with producer Johnny Jewel and was mastered at New York City's legendary R.E.M. Sound. The final track listing for "Danava" is:

01. By the Mark
02. Eyes in Disguise
03. Quiet Babies Astray in a Manger
04. Longdance
05. Maudie Shook

DANAVA will embark on a pre-release tour in support of the self-titled debut beginning in mid-October, when the band will criss-cross the U.S. with Swedish doom / '70s-influenced unit WITCHCRAFT. Prior to the launch of the U.S. tour, DANAVA will perform a number of early October live dates in the NYC area, previewing tracks from their forthcoming release.
