December 9, 2010

Hard rockers DANGEROUS TOYS returned to their hometown of Austin, Texas, for an almost-annual reunion concert at the Red Eyed Fly on Friday, December 4. This was the band's only scheduled date until the spring of 2011.

Video footage of the entire performance can now be viewed at this location (courtesy of DaveTV.org's Dave Prewitt). A couple of the clips are available below.

On January 26, DANGEROUS TOYS released the DVD "XX: A 20th Year Anniversary Concert Celebration", featuring live footage from its 20th-anniversary performance at the Red Eyed Fly.

The debut self-titled, platinum-selling DANGEROUS TOYS album was originally released May 9, 1989. This concert DVD marked the anniversary and celebrateed the good times all have had with the TOYS in these fine 20 years. "XX" included songs the band had never played live before, and a bonus demo song called "Shot To Hell" from the writing sessions from 1992 — never before heard anywhere.

DANGEROUS TOYS lead vocalist Jason McMaster was recently nominated to receive a star on the South Texas Music Walk of Fame in 2011.

Video footage of DANGEROUS TOYS' 20th-anniversary concert on November 8, 2008 at the Red Eyed Fly in Austin, Texas can be viewed below (clips uploaded by "roio420"). The group's lineup, consisting of all original members, performed a two-hour set, featuring the No. 1 MTV video hits "Teasin' Pleasin'" and "Scared" from DANGEROUS TOYS' platinum 1989 debut. Opening the show was a slide show from the personal collection of Hit Parader, RIP and Circus magazine photographer Greg Maston.
