DARK TRANQUILLITY Completes 'Where Death Is Most Alive' Tour
November 13, 2008Swedish melodic death metallers DARK TRANQUILLITY has issued the following update:
"Yesterday in Copenhagen was the last date of the mainland Europe leg (a.k.a. the Where Death Is Most Alive part) of the tour. Everything went great and our already high expectations for the first proper headline venture in a while were surpassed every night. Thanks to anyone that showed up at the shows and, of course, to POISONBLACK and FEAR MY THOUGHTS for being great people as well as great bands. Now, it's time to kickstart the Close-Up Made Us Do It part of the tour, and we welcome ENGEL and DEAD BY APRIL to the madness."
DARK TRANQUILLITY will be joined by THEATRE OF TRAGEDY singer Nell Sigland tonight (Thursday, November 13) at John Dee in Oslo, Norway.
Sigland previously performed with DARK TRANQUILLITY on October 31, 2008 during DT's headlining concert in Milan, Italy for a rendition of the song "The Mundane And The Magic" (a track that had never before been played live) and "Insanity's Crescendo". The entire show was filmed for an upcoming DVD, tentatively due in early 2009.
DARK TRANQUILLITY recently announced the addition of Daniel Antonsson (DIMENSION ZERO, ex-SOILWORK guitarist) as the group's new bassist.
Quality video footage of DARK TRANQUILLITY's performance in Milan is available below (clip uploaded by "ginmetal").
Century Media Records reissued DARK TRANQUILLITY's latest album, "Fiction", in May an expanded edition in conjunction with the start of the band's recently completed North American tour. The new version is composed of a CD/DVD and features a slew of new material.
