DARK TRANQUILLITY Vocalist Reflects On METAL FOR THE MASSES Tour

April 24, 2007

Sweden's DARK TRANQUILLITY has triumphantly returned with "Fiction", a scorching effort that will undoubtedly add an exhilarating new chapter to the genre's storied history. The highly acclaimed new album was released today and the disc further cements their status as one of the scene's most influential metal bands. The group just completed a month-long U.S. run on the inaugural Metal For The Masses tour with THE HAUNTED, INTO ETERNITY and SCAR SYMMETRY, which officially launched the worldwide "Fiction" touring cycle.

The new DARK TRANQUILLITYe-card for "Fiction" contains the group's new video for the blistering track "Focus Shift", which was shot by acclaimed director Roger Johansson (IN FLAMES, THE HAUNTED) and captures the band's unmatched live intensity. The e-card also features the "Fact or Fiction Trivia Game" where fans can prove just how much they truly know about the band's history.

Mikael Stanne (vocals) states: “Best tour ever! 24 shows, 3000+ beers, thousands of the greatest fans ever and a bill full of the craziest people Sweden and Canada has to offer all amounts to the best time we've ever had on a tour of the states. I thought it would be weird touring before the album was officially out, but it turned out to be more of a positive challenge than an obstacle. It meant that we really had to push ourselves hard as hell to do justice to some of the songs off of the new 'Fiction' album and to really show off how proud we are of it. It definitely kept us on our toes and we were pleased to see that the new stuff we played really connected with people. We couldn't ask for anything more than that.

"So thanks to all of you who came out and made this a truly memorable experience for us and huge thanks goes out to SCAR SYMMETRY for being the coolest ever, INTO ETERNITY for being inspiring and awesome and of course THE HAUNTED for just being the best there is. Now it's just a matter of finding a way to get back and do this thing all over again! Keep a lookout for us in September/October and be sure to go pick up a copy of our new album 'Fiction' today. Great success."
