DEF LEPPARD Guitarists Talk POISON Tour; Video Available

March 5, 2009

Video footage of DEF LEPPARD guitarists Phil Collen and Vivian Campbell talking to RollingStone.com about the band's upcoming U.S. tour with POISON and CHEAP TRICK can be viewed at this location.

"It's more value for the people," says Campbell of the trek. "We always had a problem figuring out who we were compatible with. When it was suggested a few years ago that we tour with JOURNEY, we all [thought], would we have something in common with an American keyboard-driven band? Turns out we know nothing about our audience because it was a massive tour and incredibly successful. The only downside for us is having to decide which songs we want to play because we're all sharing stage time."

The two guitarists also dismissed Internet chatter of a spat between DEF LEPPARD and POISON resulting from a comment DEF LEPPARD singer Joe Elliott made at a press conference in Sweden. "Joe said we were about the music, not like image-based bands," explains Collen. "I was sitting right there and didn't see anything wrong with it."
