DESPISED ICON Completes Successful European Tour, Prepares For Mexico

March 10, 2008

Montreal extremists DESPISED ICON just completed a highly successful tour of Europe, which included their first trip to Russia, with MISERY INDEX and BENEATH THE MASSACRE. The group now prepares for a slew of upcoming Mexican dates leading them into the much anticipated Summer Slaughter tour.

Commented vocalist Alex Erian: "We started this European tour with no expectations. I mean it was only our second time, not to mention BTM's first time, in Europe so we figured we were mostly into it to hang out with our boys in BTM and MI and play in front of 100 metalheads a night. But after about a week of playing in packed venues, we understood that this tour was gonna be killer. Much respect to everyone that came out to the shows, had a good time and turned this into something special for us. I haven't had this much fun on tour in a while. We plan on coming back to Europe in August for a short festival run with CEPHALIC CARNAGE. See you there!

“To celebrate this band’s six year anniversary, we decided to go to Mexico! This tour will mark our first time in Mexican territory. We can’t wait to visit around and rock out there for five days in a row. Expect brutal shows, furious Mexican metal and hardcore bands and lots of Tequila. Come hang out amigos."

DESPISED ICON Mexico headlining shows:

Apr. 30 - Monterray - Nuevo Leon
May 01 - San Louis Potosi - SN Louis P
May 02 - Aguascalientes - AGS
May 03 - Guadalajara - Kalisco
May 04 - Distrito Federal - DF

DESPISED ICON recently posted its new eye-popping video for the scathing track, "Furtive Monologue" on the band's MySpace page. The clip, shot by Jonathan Desbiens, is an exciting animated montage that will definitely set itself apart from the pack. Watch it below.
