DETONATION: New Album Delayed

April 7, 2005

Dutch melodic death/thrashers DETONATION have been forced to postpone the release date of their second full-length album, "Portals to Uphobia", to September 12 from the previously announced April 25 (via Osmose Productions).

"There are several reasons for the delay," the band write on their web site. "One of them is that we had some problems with the mastering of the new album, which caused a delay...we're actually still (or should I say 'again') mastering at this point, which makes us and Osmose unable to release the album this month or the next. Second thing is that during the summer period hardly any albums will be released, so we decided (with pain in our hearts) to go for a release in September. Promo copies will be send worldwide at the end of July, and rest asure we will do everything we can to promote the album the way it deserves.

"Of course, to keep things interesting enough for you and for ourselves as well, we will try to do several shows before the release, and we will also start playing a couple of new songs as well then... A full song from the new album will also be online on our website around June/July.

"All in all we are pretty dissapointed about all this, since we already had several problems last year with the injury of Thomas which made us enter the studio half a year later as planned....but we are now more eager than ever to give it our best and to let the world experience 'Portals to Uphobia' when we return after the summer! And you can bet your ass it's gonna be worth the wait when we return with a new album and a new show!

"Some good news however is that our guitar player Mike returned home from the States, and we are now at full strength again, ready and prepared to hit the stages!"

The follow up to 2003's "An Epic Defiance", "Portals to Uphobia" was recorded at Excess studio in Rotterdam, Holland and features cover artwork by Niklas Sundin of Cabin Fever Media (IN FLAMES, ARCH ENEMY, DARK TRANQUILLITY).
