DIMEBAG's 'Uranium' Video Tribute Posted Online

December 15, 2004

Fuse TV's "Uranium" video tribute to late DAMAGEPLAN/ex-PANTERA guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott, who was gunned down a week ago while performing at a Columbus, Ohio nightclub, has been posted online at this location.

In other news, Derrick Brumley, lead singer of the St. Louis, MO metal band CONQUEST, which played shows with Abbott and DAMAGEPLAN, told the Riverfront Times that Abbott was a salt-of-the-earth guy with tremendous talent.

"To me it's like [losing Ozzy Osbourne's guitarist] Randy Rhoads," Brumley said. "It is that much of a loss. To me, he was a good old boy. Dime partied, but he didn't party hard. He liked to drink beer; he liked his green. He was a down-to-earth person that just loved to play music."

While taking Abbott out onstage may have been the most dramatic murder the killer (Nathan Gale) could think of, Brumley suggests that it also may have been the easiest.

"DAMAGEPLAN has a strong backstage security area," Brumley explained. "When I was at Pop's with DAMAGEPLAN, you couldn't get nowhere near them. So I doubt it was a mistake on their part. This [going onstage] would be the only way you could get to him."
