DISTURBED Launches 'Music As A Weapon' Tonight
November 15, 2006Launch Radio Networks reports: DISTURBED heads back on the road tonight (Wednesday, November 15) with the third edition of the Music As A Weapon tour, which kicks off in Providence, Rhode Island and ends on December 22 in Madison, Wisconsin. The lineup also features STONE SOUR, NONPOINT and FLYLEAF. DISTURBED frontman David Draiman told Launch that finding the right balance of bands to appear under the headliner was more challenging this time. "There aren't too many bands out there that are just a step down from us," he said. "There's a lot of bands out there that are doing similar business to us. You take a KORN, you take a GODSMACK, you take, you know, ROB ZOMBIE, you know, bands like that — it's hard to partner up with somebody who basically can go out and do the business on their own. So it's difficult building the bill."
DISTURBED continues supporting its third album, "Ten Thousand Fists", which features the band's current No. 1 rock single, "Land Of Confusion".
STONE SOUR is touring behind its sophomore effort, "Come What(ever) May", which was released this past summer.
FLYLEAF remains on the road promoting its self-titled debut, which was just certified gold for sales of 500,000 copies more than a year after its release.
Music As A Weapon next stops in Portland, Maine on Friday (November 17). A second leg of the tour is planned for early 2007.
