DOYLE On His 'Favorite Lady,' ARCH ENEMY Singer ALISSA WHITE-GLUZ: 'Nobody Can Out-Beast Her'

June 10, 2014

Former MISFITS guitarist Doyle Wolfgang Von Frankenstein talks about some of his "Favorite S@#t" in the June/July 2014 issue of Revolver magazine, including his "favorite lady," his much younger girlfriend Alissa White-Gluz, vocalist of Swedish / American / Canadian metallers ARCH ENEMY.

"I was doing the DANZIG tour last year and she was on the first leg with her old band [THE AGONIST]. I met her the first day and I couldn’t think anymore — still can't," Doyle, who was previously married to former pro wrestler Stephanie Bellars (a.k.a. Gorgeous George),said.

"She's the Queen Beast of metal! It's the way she sings — nobody can out-beast her."

After it was revealed earlier this month that Alissa was performing with ARCH ENEMY with broken ribs after crashing into a stage riser during the band's European tour, Doyle posted the following message on his Instagram:

"You know… Everyone says 'rock star this,' 'rock star that'… Rock stars get sick… Rock stars get injured… Rock stars miss their loved ones and sometimes lose loved ones while they're on the road…

"Last year, before the Houston show of [the] DANZIG / DOYLE [tour], my father passed away… Everyone asked, 'Are you going home?' I said no, I am not going to let down you guys and I'm not letting down all those fans… The show must go on!!! And it does. I finished the tour...

"Three shows ago, Alissa fell through a part of the stage called an ego ramp, by jumping on it and Queen-Beasting the fuck outta it!! She sustained minor injuries to her shins and her head and today she was diagnosed by a hospital with a broken rib… And told to cancel the next two weeks of the tour… Alissa's diagnosis was, 'Fuck that shit! I'm finishing this tour.' For her bandmates and the fans.

"This is called the music business… Not the music hangout and have a good time.

"We go through all the things I mentioned above… It's a hard fucking job… And this is just one more reason why I love this woman so much…

"Alissa's a gamer… A beast… a tough, badass motherfucker!! 'SAME' we call it.

"I am so proud of her.... I have no words to describe it…

"All you ARCH ENEMY fans out there.. You're some lucky fans."

Doyle was also full of praise for "War Eternal", ARCH ENEMY's just-released new album which is the band's first to feature Alissa's vocals. He wrote: "Tomorrow I am going to go buy the hard copy on CD… with all the lyrics. I can't fucking wait.

"This album is fucking bone crushing. I had the honor and privilege of hearing it at the kitchen table and in the car while the Queen Beast was working on it and writing lyrics. The demos sounded amazing… and then… when the real tracks came in… we could not believe our fucking ears!

"Go buy this on hardcopy or download off iTunes… Guaranteed satisfaction… You won't be sorry. It's fucking awesome."
