DRAGONFORCE Wedding Proposal

December 12, 2006

According to Scotland's The Daily Record, heavy metal fan Richard Whyte left girlfriend Elaine Riddell speechless by jumping on to the stage at a gig to ask her to marry him.

He got down on one knee in front of a cheering crowd when DRAGONFORCE played at Barrowland in Glasgow. Richard, 21, planned the proposal after enlisting the help of band guitarist Sam Totman.

Richard said: "I have wanted to propose for a while but wanted to make it special.

"It was the perfect time to do it, though it was a little scary in front of thousands of people.

"I was a little worried she wasn't going to say 'yes' so I was delighted when she did. It was the best night of my life."

Elaine, 20, said: "I was shocked because I had no idea he was going to do it. It is a night I'll never forget"

The couple, both call centre workers from Dunfermline, Fife, went on to celebrate their engagement backstage with the band.

They hope to wed next year.
