Drummer BOBBY RONDINELLI Doesn't Consider BLACK SABBATH Heavy Metal
December 6, 2004Veteran hard rock drummer Bobby Rondinelli (RAINBOW, BLUE ÖYSTER CULT, BLACK SABBATH, THE LIZARDS) has told ElectricBasement.com that while he was behind the kit for BLACK SABBATH's "Cross Purposes" album and tour, he doesn't view the band as heavy metal. "I mean they’re heavy, but I always thought of [JUDAS] PRIEST as more metal," he explained. "When I was growing up I used to think certain bands were heavy, but heavy metal to me meant something different, and now it means a lot more than it used to."
Rondinelli's current project, THE LIZARDS, finds him promoting the critically acclaimed "Cold Blooded Kings" album, which also features RIOT singer Mike DiMeo. Read about his as well as his recent depature from BLUE ÖYSTER CULT at this location.
