EMPEROR: More Live Footage Posted Online

January 22, 2008

MetalKult.com has just posted three new live videos from Norwegian black metal legends EMPEROR.

The footage includes performances of "Into the Infinity of Thoughts" and "The Burning Shadows of Silence" from 1994's "In the Nightside Eclipse" and "Thus Spake the Nightspirit" from 1997's "Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk".

The video was filmed in New York City on June 1, 2007, while EMPEROR was in the city for one of only three U.S. tour dates.

Also on MetalKult.com is live footage of "Cursed You All Men!" from that show.

As previously reported, EMPEROR vocalist/guitarist Ihsahn has set "Angl" as the title of his second solo album, tentatively due mid-spring via Candlelight Records. The follow-up to 2006's "The Adversary" is "in its final completion stages now," according to a recent Candlelight press release.

"The Adversary" entered the Norwegian album chart at position No. 33. The CD was written and recorded over a one-year period at Symphonique Studios in Norway and features a guest appearance by Garm from ULVER on one song. All music and lyrics for "The Adversary" were written and performed by Ihsahn with exception of drums, which were played by Asgeir Mickelson (BORKNAGAR, SPIRAL ARCHITECT).
