EVERGREY: Studio Update
October 16, 2007Swedish metallers EVERGREY have entered the studio to begin recording their follow-up to 2006's "Monday Morning Apocalypse", tentatively due in early 2008.
Commented the band: "We have had some help from Fredrik Nordström from Studio Fredman. We decided we wanted some input on the initial setting of the sound from someone outside of EVERGREY. We brought him in for one day and we managed to get a great sound out of every instrument. Perhaps it might not be the most easy-played sound but we know that it has everything we need for making it crush when you get your hands on it. Some of you might remember that Fredrik also mixed the 'Recreation Day' album [2003] so he is not all new to us and vice versa."
EVERGREY recently announced the addition of former STRATOVARIUS bassist Jari Kainulainen to the group's ranks. Jari made his live debut with the band at Fosen Rock festival in Fosen, Norway on August 25.
EVERGREY is currently seeking a new label home after splitting with Inside Out Music following the release of "Monday Morning Apocalypse".
A video interview with EVERGREY vocalist/guitarist Tom Englund and keyboardist Rikard Zander, filmed in Romaniain April 2007, is available for viewing online at Metalhead.ro. More than 200 photos from EVERGREY's Bucharest concert have been posted online at this location.
EVERGREY's last CD, "Monday Morning Apocalypse" was recorded at Division One Studios in Gothenburg, Sweden by the experienced production team of Sanken Sandquist and Stefan Glaumann, who have previously worked with such artists as RAMMSTEIN, BON JOVI, BRITNEY SPEARS and DEF LEPPARD.
