Ex-DAMAGEPLAN Frontman Joins THE HAUNTED, SHADOWS FALL For DIMEBAG Tribute

August 29, 2005

Former DAMAGEPLAN frontman Patrick Lachman paid tribute to late PANTERA/DAMAGEPLAN guitarist "Dimebag" Darrell Abbott at last Thursday's (Aug. 25) Dallas, TX Ozzfest by dedicating two guest appearances to his fallen friend and bandmate. Lachman performed the song "99" with THE HAUNTED and later "Inspiration on Demand" with SHADOWS FALL.

After becoming friends on last year's "Devastation Across The Nation" tour, both bands invited Lachman to join them on stage in DAMAGEPLAN's hometown. Pictures by Chad Lee can be viewed at this location.

Lachman is currently working on a new project involving notable San Francisco Bay Area and Los Angeles musicians set to be unveiled in the coming weeks. Lachman describes the material as "heavy but also very melodic, with the focus being on good songwriting. It's a definite left turn and I think it's going to surprise a lot of people." The group has reportedly written and recorded over 20 songs and are preparing to shop for a major label record deal.
