Ex-MEGADETH Guitarist MARTY FRIEDMAN To Appear On U.S. Presidential Election Special In Japan

November 1, 2008

On November 3 at 10:00 p.m. on Japan's NHK network, former MEGADETH guitarist Marty Friedman will appear on a special two-hour program, "The Power Of Presidential Speeches".

Marty, who is known for keeping his opinions on political issues private, gives a rare and unique in-depth commentary on this important show which will air the night before the U.S. presidential election. The show features Marty alongside top Japanese political analysts discussing the current U.S. presidential race.

As previously reported, Marty Friedman will perform with Uli Jon Roth (ex-SCORPIONS) on November 11 and November 12 at Tokyo's Nakano Sun Plaza. This is the same venue that the legendary "Tokyo Tapes" (SCORPIONS' classic album from 1978) was recorded. According to a posting on Friedman's web site, "It is no secret about Marty's deep respect of Roth, and both nights will certainly be a treat for the fans as well as the guitarists themselves."

Marty is currently in pre-production for the next album from his LOVEFIXER project, tentatively due in early 2009.

LOVEFIXER is said to be the first-ever American/Japanese collaboration in Japanese rock which features Marty on guitar and Shinichiro "Sin" Suzuki on vocals. The group made its live debut in Sapporo in August 2007.
