FILTER Unveils New U.S. Tour

May 22, 2008

According to The Pulse of Radio, FILTER has announced a new run of U.S. tour dates that will begin on June 12 in Fort Wayne, Indiana and continue through July 5 in Des Moines, Iowa, with more shows expected to be announced soon. The band is supporting its first album in six years, "Anthems for the Damned", and also features an all-new lineup behind frontman and founder Richard Patrick. The singer told The Pulse of Radio that putting together a great live band was crucial for him. "You know, I sat down and I went, 'You know what? If I'm gonna do FILTER, I really want to hire, like, amazing people to be with me,'" he said. "You know, I had a lot of guys that were just kind of like my drinking buddies, you know, and it was almost based on more of a friendship. This band, it's completely, totally professional, and with the talent of these guys, I can take FILTER to another level and that's what we're trying to bring live."

Support on the tour will come from 10 YEARS. Ironically, 10 YEARS' new album, "Division", sold more than twice as many copies as the new FILTER record, "Anthems for the Damned", in their first week of release. Both came out last week, with 10 YEARS selling 28,000 copies and FILTER moving 12,000.

The first single from "Anthems for the Damned", "Soldiers of Misfortune", was inspired by a FILTER fan who was killed while serving in the Middle East.

FILTER plays on Thursday night (May 22) in Charleston, South Carolina.
