Finnish Businessman Offering Free DEEP PURPLE Concert Tickets To Swedes

May 7, 2005

A Finnish businessman is offering free tickets to all Swedes who wish to attend DEEP PURPLE's concert in Finland on May 21.

DEEP PURPLE are playing three shows in Scandinavia at the end of the month — one gig each in Norway, Finland and Denmark, with Sweden conspicuously absent from the list.

"When I heard earlier this week that DEEP PURPLE will not perform in Sweden, I decided to invite all of the band's Swedish fans to the village of Tuuri and give them free entrance to the show," Vesa Keskinen writes in a press release, according to the Swedish newspaper Aftonbladet.

Keskinen, who made Tuuri (a village with a population of 500) famous with his department store (which is said to be the second largest department store in Finland) admits that he has an ulterior motive with the whole thing — he's after Swedish cutomers.
