FIREWIND Guitarist Issues Post-U.S. Tour Update

October 9, 2007

FIREWIND guitarist/founder Gus G. has issued the following update:

"I'm sitting at some airport as we're on our way to Japan. I just wanted to check in and let you know that our first U.S. tour has come to an end and it has been a great experience for us! We didn't really know what to expect from the American and Canadian audiences but we were shocked when we found out how many dedicated fans we have in North America! All shows went down very well; we gave everything on stage every single night. We made lots of new friends, toured with some cool bands and hopefully made some new fans as well.

"The shows we did together with SONATA ARCTICA and THE AGONIST were definitely the highlight of this tour and were very successful. We also want to say that we're very sorry for the show cancellations in Covington, KY and Fayetteville, NC but it wasn't in our hand to do something about it. So hopefully we'll reschedule those the next time we come back.

"Our U.S. tour ended with a killer show in Atlanta at the sold-out ProgPower festival. Thanx to Stephen Fredrick (our original vocalist from the first two albums) for joining us on stage for the very first time — very special moment!

"A big thanks to everyone who was involved and made this tour happen — our fantastic crew (Hoss, Brandon, Mike),Dragon and First Row Talent agencies, all the bands we shared the stage with and of course you people who came to the shows and supported us!

"We can't wait to be back next year!

"Even though we're totally jetlagged and traveling for 30 hours, we're very excited to return to Japan and tour with our buddies from KAMELOT."

FIREWIND will have its 2002 debut album, "Between Heaven & Hell", re-released in Japan on October 10 via King Records. The reissue includes new artwork, liner notes from guitarist Gus G. and producer David T. Chastain as well as two bonus tracks.

Originally released with different cover artwork in Japan, this time the album will include the European cover which was created by legendary artist Kristian Wahlin (KING DIAMOND, DISSECTION, AT THE GATES)

FIREWIND recently announced that singer Apollo Papathanasio will take the next few months off and will be temporarily replaced by German vocalist Henning Basse (METALIUM).

FIREWIND's new single, "Breaking the Silence" (featuring Tara Teresa),entered the national single chart in Greece at position No. 19 and moved up to No. 16 in its second week. The video for the single's title cut was directed by Patric Ullaeus (IN FLAMES, DIMMU BORGIR, LACUNA COIL).
