FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH Keeps Hitting

March 14, 2008

The Pulse of Radio reports: Even though FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH is off the road for now so that singer Ivan Moody can rest his battered throat, the band's fortunes continue to soar. Its first single, "The Bleeding", sits at Number Seven on the Active Rock radio chart, with the song's success probably especially sweet for Moody. The former MOTOGRATER frontman told The Pulse of Radio that "The Bleeding" was a very personal number for him. "When I first heard it, I sat back in my chair and almost cried," he said. "I mean, it came so naturally. 'Cause at the time, you know, I had just separated from my ex-fiance and with MOTOGRATER separating, it was a really tragic time. A good friend of mine had just passed. There was not a more opportune time to write a song like 'The Bleeding'. It's probably the most personal song I've ever written."

"The Bleeding" is taken from FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH's debut album, "The Way of the Fist", which has sold nearly 90,000 copies since coming out last summer.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH canceled all its tour dates through mid-April due to Moody developing calluses on his vocal chords. Doctors advised him to take two months off from singing and work on rehabilitating his voice. A full recovery is expected in time for the band to join this summer's Rockstar Energy Mayhem tour, headlined by DISTURBED and SLIPKNOT.

FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH was formed in 2005 by ex-U.P.O. guitarist Zoltan Bathory.
